Winter Warmers

January 20, 2015

Hello my lovelies,

so its all about wearing a vest, gloves, hats and scarf’s as the temperature plummets. I love the freshness of this of year, it makes me feel alive. Lots of soups, stews and mash! Yet why not mash sweet potato instead? Sweet potato is full of beta carotene, use a little olive oil with the butter to use less butter. Make sure its a good butter and not artificial rubbish of a low fat spread... I dare you to look up xanthan gum, its like wallpaper paste! It has no calories yet will clog you up like glue, yuck.

I read the other day, they now want to inject you with an inflammatory to help with arthritic pain, yet for most if you looked at your diet, the food you put into your body should heal, calm, nourishes and balance your body which is a self healing organism. Dairy is NOBODY'S friend... It turns the body's chemistry to acid. The amount of people with eczema, asthma, IBS and arthritis should not eat dairy. Your body needs an alkaline environment to work at its optimum.

GREEN GREEN GREENS!

A lovely alkaline soup, I like to call it 'kick N leek soup'

  • Leeks

  • Sweet potato

  • Green peppers

  • Mushrooms

  • A little Garlic

  • Stock

  • A little Chilli

  • A little Turmeric

  • Mustard

  • Salt & Pepper

  • Fry up the leeks in a little butter until the leeks turn soft

  • Then add mushrooms and peppers

  • Add softly boiled sweet potatoes

  • Add stock, water and a spoonful of mustard

The soup tastes even better the next day!
